The one day in the year when it’s perfectly OK to wear a green hat in Taiwan is upon us.
Get your Guinness on, wear as much green as you can to score free whisky shots and definitely don't make plans for Sunday.

1. James Joyce Irish Bar
This charming Irish bar in Gongguan’s student area has a stellar weekend of top live music and drinks specials lined up from Friday to Sunday to celebrate all things Celtic.
Owner and proud Irishman Mark says they're expecting over 1000 revelers. Entry is free, but it will be packed. Get there early and remember to wear some Green!!

2. The Speakeasy
The Speakeasy is one of Taipei’s go-to Irish bars, with an older crowd. It’s reasonably small and intimate, with super-friendly staff and regulars.
Come over for a great night of 'Craic Agus Ceoil' and enjoy their specials on Guinness and Irish Shots and Irish music on the stereo all night long!

3. Brass Monkey (Fuxing branch)
This popular Taipei sports bar uses any festive day as an excuse for a huge party drink-a-thon, and their St. Pat’s party is an annual highlight.
Entry is free and almost all Irish beers, shots and cocktails will be on special to get everyone properly sh*tfaced, if manager Bob has his way with you.

4. Bobwundaye
This legendary live music bar near Liuzhangli MRT has a treat in store this Saturday for all.
Never was there a more perfect occasion for expat country band Twangover to grace the stage.
Get ready for a St. Patrick's day like no other,with some good drinkin' music all night. Whiskey shots until you pass out. A hangover that might make you think you caught the plague. Broo-ha!

5. BeerGeek
This British craft beer den of iniquity needs any silly excuse to get their drink on, so forget about the Troubles and come over. There will be draught Guinness and Foxes Rock, specials all night, free shots for those wearing GREEN, live Irish music and an inspired playlist !

6. Carnegie's
Who's your Paddy??
As usual, Taipei’s grand dame Carnegie's will be lifting her skirt and throwing an Irish Party to (try and) remember! Irish manager Niall has Irish Ale Pie eating contests, beer-drinking competitions and other games to keep the night fun, as well as plenty of drink specials.

7. The Local
Shawn and Tristan, previously from Beer and Cheese, will be unleashing their latest brew, the Belching Beaver Nitro Milk Stout on St. Paddy’s Day. Wear green and get a FREE shot!

8. The Park
This new spot from Gary O’Connor from DV8 will be toasting all things Irish with fine food and drinks, good craic and a gem selection of tunes from the Emerald Isle.
The Squire will be serving up a traditional lamb stew for just $250 and there'll be specials on Jameson, Baileys and Guinness all night long.
